Hardware and software requirements
To be able use ZoomFriends effectively, we recommend that your system meets the following requirements:
Network:
- Internet connection with speed of at least 24 Kbps in both directions.
- If your network has a firewall or Proxy server installed we recommend to install full application version
Computer:
- 700MHz Pentium III
- Windows 98 SE, 2000, Millennium (Me), or XP
- 128MB of RAM and 10MB of available hard disk space
- A full duplex sound card
- A speaker, or headset (a headset will reduce feedback noise)
- A microphone
- A PC video camera (to send video to other users)
In addition, make sure your computer has a sound card and a video card with these capabilities and software support:
- DirectX 7.0 (or higher) support
- 800 x 600 16-bit color (Hi-Color)
ZoomFriends works with most PC video cameras that support a 320 x 240 image in any of the following display formats:
- 16-bit Color (RGB16, RGB555 or RGBH)
- 24-bit Color (RGB24, RGB888 or RGBT)
- YUV12
- I420
A PC video camera will allow you to access all of the video
features of ZoomFriends. Without a PC video Camera you can still communicate
with audio and text. The following PC video Cameras are recommended for optimum
use with ZoomFriends:

For high quality performance we recommend to use ZoomFriends with ordinary
cameras, using following capture cards:

- Fly Video EZ
- Fly Video PCTV
